The Difference: Some reasons to enjoy
the Oregon Mozart
Players
Have it
both ways. The 35 musicians of OMP—strings, woodwinds, brass
and percussion—capture both the passion and precision of a string
quartet and the dynamism of a full symphony orchestra.
Small is
beautiful. Experience the splendid repertoire of the chamber
orchestra, from the Baroque to the present, played by an ensemble of a
size intended by the composers. You don't need a huge dining room or a
king's ransom to hear the wide variety of music composed for small
forces.
Intimate
venues. Get closer to the musicians. Enhance your enjoyment of
the performance by hearing the interplay between instruments and other
subtle details of the music. You can separate the
instrumental lines and identify who's playing them.
We’re
family. Not just a traveling show or a large anonymous group.
Get to know Kelly Kuo and the players personally at pre-concert
talks and post-concert receptions. These are good times as well to meet
other
people from our area who also support the Oregon Mozart Players.
Soloists
from near and far. Enjoy the artistry of soloists from the
orchestra, from the community and from the world stage. Eugene is
blessed with some extraordinarily fine musicians, whose talents the
Oregon Mozart
Players have a tradition of showcasing. In addition, the high quality
of the orchestra and Kelly Kuo's unique contacts
in the musical scene let us attract some of the country's top
musicians.
